The unknown

Velvet green grass has overgrown,
barren rusty landscapes,
stay outside and just watch,
watch the world outpace you,
and canary whales offer their songs,
there’s a universe underneath,
white spotless ice,
stretches for miles in one protective sheath,
tentacles flutter in blue green waters.
‘Beautiful!’
But the green grass you began with?
I asked you to watch from outside,
and not to take a dive in it.
The unknown led you astray,
for the green undergrowth was what you saw,
and while curiosity held its sway,
the deep blue sea closed its jaw,
around you.
